AG, you ought to read his books. I have read The Big U, Snow Crash and The Diamond Age. I look forward to reading Zodiac and the Baroque Cycle after I have finished some (10) other books.

Stephenson is brilliant because he keeps it 99% factual, and your suspension of disbelief is kept to a minimum.
well, except the cyberpunk novels... but at least the laws of physics still apply there.
