Each Others Vajayjay

Multimedia squared. Go, watch, read, listen.

(p.s. it's jon stewart, not vj)

(p.p.s. there appears to be a particularly annoying audio ad awaiting you on the link.... i still think it's worth the experience.)

the 18th Century

I believe the Democrats might just regain the initiative, if each Democratic senator would dress in period costume representing the era of American history when our rights were less protected. Say... circa 1775.

I mean, they can't stop it, but they can get some awesome press coverage of a fundamental issue.

Your Republican Party, returning you to the 'good old days' of serfdom, one war at a time.

Or, "Show me the money"

I wonder which of us will be the first declared an 'ememy combatant', and stripped of our constitutional rights.

Remember, he is the decider, it is entiurely his call, and you cannot fight it in court.

Which citizens will be first into the camps?

I think I'm going to watch Brazil, and maybe call Central Services.

Wallace: Do you think you did enough, sir?

Clinton: No, because I didn't get him.

Wallace: Right.

Clinton: But at least I tried. That's the difference in me and some, including all of the right-wingers who are attacking me now. They ridiculed me for trying. They had eight months to try, they did not try. I tried. So I tried and failed. When I failed, I left a comprehensive anti-terror strategy and the best guy in the country, Dick Clark, who got demoted.

Do not trust this man

In the context of (as i recall), 'how do you think the local (Florida?) Jewish population will reposnd to policy X, re: Israel?'
Baker is alleged to have said about Jews in 1992: "Fuck 'em. They didn't vote for us."
I happenned to be up late that night, and happened to be in the lounge of my dorm, and watching the middle of the night news (on ABC, i think).

long and short of it: James Baker did say that.

then, today.

The former secretary of state is part of a bipartisan group that is exploring ideas for a way out.

He cited the "impeccable credentials" of the 10-member group, which also includes former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Bill Clinton adviser Vernon Jordan Jr. and former White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta. The other cochairman is former Rep. Lee Hamilton, D-Ind.
Now, how come I can't find any crap about Panetta or Jordan pecc-ing their own credentials.

Saw this on Firedoglake:

Supporting a stupid war is one thing, but this...

even if the lot is entirely closed... this is so dumb.

I mean, I thought he was trying to distingusih himself from the Max Cleland wing of the party.

The set of CSI: Miami became a real-life police investigation scene when a body washed up during filming.

Earlier in the week a mummified body was found inside a building in Los Angeles where spin-off drama CSI: New York was being filmed.

I have always liked the original CSI:Las Vegas, but the spinoffs have done little for me

Iraq's interior ministry has announced plans to increase security in Baghdad by digging trenches around the city, and surrounding it with checkpoints.

Success stories of Afghanistan, from a .mil address (dare I?):
The 3rd Brigade Support Troops Battalion?s Civil Affairs Team in coordination with the Gardez Provincial Reconstruction Team delivered more than 1,200 pounds of concrete to a remote mountain village in Paktya Province.
and the photo caption:
Villagers unload 100-pound bags of cement provided by 3d Brigade Support Troops Battalion?s Civil Affairs Team in Azghana, Afghanistan. U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Master Sgt. Pete Casiano
and, the finish:
This is the second load of cement the soldiers have provided to Azghana. They have now delivered more than 3,000 pounds of cement to help the villagers build their canal.
in closing, the math.

(3,000 lbs of concrete)/ (100 lbs/bag) = 30 bags of concrete.

I mean, why stop at a canal? they could pull off a major dam with 30 whole bags of concrete. They might even lay a couple dozen feet of canal.

I'm not saying some of the other stories listed with this one aren't impressive, and a net good, but 30 bags of concrete is worth 7 paragraphs and a photo?

If this is even close to being one of the 100 best things we've done in Afghanistan, then it's about 4 years on and we have already lost the entire war.

Mobuzz

it's a blog you watch

I'd quote it here, but I'm not sure how to quote video. So go there, and watch the episode for today, September 12th. The first minute made me almost fall out of my chair, and by the end it was hard to breathe.

They hit craigslist, live tv moments, Senator Stevens (R-Intertube), a wolf-whistle website, and an international treaty. in under 3 minutes.

[updated: as it is not september 12]
[up and up dated: as it definitely was september 12, and not the 13th. Stupid blogger]

Right on ya', lad!

AS AUSTRALIA mourned the death of the naturalist and film-maker Steve Irwin it emerged yesterday that he had quietly purchased 90,000 acres of land to save threatened species.

5 years ago I was on campus at the University of Mass, Amherst. Waiting in line for coffee, on my way to do something or another. Of all the places to be, on that campus was a pretty random one.

Strangely, that is also EXACTLY where I was standing when the world found out that OJ was acquitted, and the crowd craning to see the TV was about the as large. Stranger than fiction.

Now, where is Osama?

I am listening to "This Land is My Land" from Goldfish Don't Talk Back (the best and most unavailable album - ever, or of 1990 anyhow.

(singing) "Folk songs change with the times, la la la (x 30)"

Hot damn she's good.

I happen to have a copy of GDTB that I copied from a friend. I literaly mailed her 10 bucks (she deserves to get paid).

She is another piece of living proof that republican administrations are good for art. True republicans offend most artists, and nothing quite gets the juices flowing like a good dose of indignation.

Anyone else have a totally obscure album they'd like to share?
